Don't waste your time, its not going to work.........I didn't say it can't be done, but it will last 100 miles if you have a horse shoe up your....in your glove box

You can pull the pan with the engine in the car. You have to unbolt both motor mounts and jack the motor up. Then you can remove the pan.

lots of people know the answer but it gets brought up so often they don't bother to respond.....if you have bad bearing then you have a rough crank witch will eat fresh bearings very quick.....just trying to help you out

As "mdacton" said, this form of ghetto repair is pretty much doomed to fail. Either method stated for dropping the pan w/o removing the motor will work. Dropping the crossmember give better access but takes longer and (obviously) requires a lift. Jacking up the motor can be done on jackstands.

Actually you can take the pan off, no problem, the only thing youd have to do is.................pull the transmission, drivershaft, exhaust, K-member then the crank + ud need help, and have a cherry picker to hold the engine up which will be in your way the whole time. So you might as well pull the whole engine.

UNLESS! You are only changing one of the bearings on the crank, but I dotn think thats the prob, it may just be ping. Well if your not gonna pull the crank but only replacing the bearings one side it may be possible, but dont let anyone you cant pull the pan on the car while the motors in it, Ive dont it a million times and just did it again last night but with a 7qt race pan, now thats a bitch.
