Oil pan options for a 383 - stock k member

I have a a 383 lt1. the oe oil pan form my 94 Z had a few clearence issues with the crank shaft. What are some good (preferably cheap) options to replace this oil pan? A used oil pan would be fine. Other than Canton race pans, what other good after market oil pans will work for my set up? I just need it to clear the crank and stock k member. I have a melling high volume pump and pick up as well...any thoughts?

Um, just put a dent in the pan where the 1-2 rod bolts hit? That is about all I have ever had to do besides shim the windage tray in the dozen 383 lt1's that I've put together.

I have the high volume oiling system aswell. does the OE oil pan run a risk of oil starvation? Im not going to be racing it through corners or anything

I have a high volume oil pump in my 383 with the stock pan and i have no oil starving issues, even when carving some corners at the track. To clearance it i put the pan on with a few bolts and no gasket while it was on the engine stand. Turned the engine over, saw where it hit and hammered it out a bit. Had it on and off a few dozen times but that's better than spending a few hundred on a new pan I didn't really need.

Don't need a hv oil pump either. If you're one who likes lots of oil pressure, Just use a standard volume pump with the high pressure spring. Should end up with 40psi hot idle and 65psi max.

In the event you really do need a hv pump and aftermarket pan, which is never on the street, use a bbc standard volume/pres pump and not the sbc hv.

I have built a lot of engines in the past with the high pressure bypass spring. I am of the opinion lately that its not necessary. The things are on the bypass constantly with the bearing clearances I use at anything above 1500rpm. I think it just puts extra stress on the oil pump drive and wastes some energy pumping oil that really isn't needed.

Update.Back after a month........

Im doing away with the Melling HV Oil pump. Using the Melling SV High Pressure. They used the same 3/4 pick-up. It comes in Friday from Summit. Guess I will be hammering the pan out and it should be ready to go back in. Are the pick-up press fit or do i need to tig it?

Both. It is press fit and you really should tack it in there for safety's sake...
