Oil pan gasket

I just pulled the Y pipe, starter, and the shield between tranny and starter, and all the bolts from the pan.

Used an impact gun to get the nuts off the motor mount through bolts.

I can't get the bolts out though. They're in there pretty good. One of them is almost all the way out, and the other is only about 1/2" out.

Is there a secret? I don't have a cherry picker yet, I'm borrowing a friends so it's gonna be about another 2 hours before I get it, but I can't seem to get those bolts out. I'm thinking I'm gonna hook up the picker and jack up the motor and try to pull the bolts while I jack it up.

Workin' on your back sure does suck. I can't wait to get this job done.

I said screw it and just put the gasket on w/out pulling the pan. Much quicker that way.

i jacked up the engine from the pan and propped it up with 2x4s, then pulled/replaced the gasket with the pan by slipping it through the bottom.. dirty, but it works.

Well, I wasn't going to jack by the crank pulley. That seems like a lotta weight for the aluminum bearings in the rods and mains.
