Oil Level Sensor Replacement - DIY

I've had my Z for about 3 months now. One of the reasons I bought it was to learn how to make moderate repairs and modifications by myself. So, when I saw that there was an oil leak, I was more happy than aggravated because this meant I could make my first repair. After putting the car on ramps, I discovered the location of the drip was the oil level sensor (seen here in a pic from shoebox's website).

This is a fairly easy fix. It is best to change your oil on the same day, since you will have to drain the oil anyway (once you take the sensor out, oil will spill everywhere if the pan is full). Here are the steps:

1. Buy a replacement oil level sensor (I got this one at AutoZone.com).
2. Remove the plug/clip that goes into the sensor. In GM's infinite wisdom, the design of the sensor is such so that the clip cannot be accessed on any of the six sides of the sensor bolt. I unclipped it by prying it out with a thin flat head screwdriver.
3. Using a 1 1/8" socket, take out the old sensor.
4. Place a small amount of RTV sealant on the washer of the new oil level sensor.
5. Place the new sensor into the oil pan and tighten (not sure of the torque specs).
6. Insert the plug into the sensor until you hear it click (you'll notice that the replacement sensor has a slot cut into one of the hex sides so the plug can easily be unclipped in the future, if necessary).
7. Refill your car with oil.
8. Inspect the car a day or two later for leaks.

That's pretty much it. I used this message board a lot for assistance, so even though this repair can be done by a trained chimp, I'd like to contribute something back to help any other noobs out there.

Next on my list is changing the rear diff. oil and gasket and replacing the belt tensioner, which I was almost able to do until I realized that the two bolts which hold the tensioner assembly together are "frozen on" and I can't loosen them. My cousin has an impact gun that I'm going to try to get the bolts off with, if it can fit down there.
