oil level SENSOR

My oil LEVEL sensor has started leaking ... anything special about removing it with the pan still on the engine? What are people using to plug the port if the switch can't be sealed?

Re: oil level SENSOR

M20 x1.5 bolt with sealing washer to replace the sensor. 15-20 mm long should work.

Because it is long, pull the sensor straight out, so you don't break any of it off inside the pan.

Depends on what you have locally. NAPA would be a good place to start. They might have a drain plug that size.

Re: oil level SENSOR

Canton sells a plug if you can't find one locally. Or you can take the sensor out and weld it shut like I did.

They almost always leak through the body of the sensor. They're plastic and not terribly rugged
