Oil leaks - Thicker oil...

Guys:

Got a 95 Z28 with 115Km (70K miles). Taken very good care of. Only Mobile1 5W30 sytec for years. It is for that reason I am soo ticked that I have so many oil leaks. I just had the crank case seal changed cause it leaked and now less that 2 months later I am told that the rear main seal is leaking, the upper intake gasket is leaking and the oil pan is sweating. What is up with that. All of the leaks are minor. Just a drop or two every night, but still. Will going to something thicker like 15W 50 syntec help.

I only do about 5K miles a year since my wife and I have another vehicle.

Any aditves I can add.

Thanks,

Asim

You could go with an oil that has an additive made in it to swell up seals, such as valvoline max life. I would also go back to regular oil. I've heard you can take a leak free motor and switch it to synthetic and it will start leaking. Something about synthetic makes it more leak prone. At least that is what i've always heard.

The intake leak will probably have to be fixed though as its not really a seal its just silicone.

Ok, so I'm running 5W30 syntec right now. I'd like to stay synthetic as it is a better oil. What grade and brand should I go to, or is there a safe additive I can add to help 'condition' these darn seals?
