Oil Leaking onto Optispark '94 Z28

Hi:

We installed a new water pump and after a few days we found what appears to be some oil dripping on top of the Optispark, and running down the side of it.

The water pump did not come with the O-rings that go on the drive shafts on either end. The engine side had the old one, but the pump did not. We put an O-ring on the pump side that was as close a fit as we could get.

Could this be the cause of the oil leaking? We don't see any coolant leaking.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

The o-rings have nothing to do with the leak, sounds like your water pump drive's seal.

Thanks for the info. I hope replacing that seal isn't too much of a hassle!
