i have a oil leak. i thought was my rear main seal but i have oil on the back firewall also.. trying to figure out what it is? it is like splattered on the firewall. plus now i can start to smell burnt oil in the car? any ideas? royal purple is too expensive to be leaking it out

I'm thinking rear intake leak, although I've never heard of it splattering out. The burning smell could just be the oil hitting your exhaust. The stock y-pipe runs right under the engine.

 

Also, check the oil pressure sensor at the upper left rear of the engine.

 

i know my buddy did a oil change and put alittle too much oil could that cause that to happen
