oil leake problem
Hey guys i can not figure out if it would be the oil pan or the timing chain cover oil is leaking on the very bottom the of timeing chain cover kind of where the oil pan is u can see the gasket or the bottom seal sticking out i will have to take some pictures its very hard to explain anyone have any ideas
The only advise I think you will get is clean it up good and watch to see where it originates from. I think you can also get some dye that glows under black light.
I have a leak in that area too. I always have a drop of oil on the AIR tube running under the timing cover. I thought it was the crank sensor cause that was wet too - but I have replaced the O ring and sealed it up with gasket material to no avail. Same friggin' drop of oil.
Currently - my car is wearing a diaper until I have time to fix it. I wrapped an oil absorbant rag around the AIR pipe and zip tied it in place. It will catch the 2 drips per trip and save my driveway some mess.

I have the same problem. When I went to a 383 with D1 FI blower. As rings wear, some blowby will occur and positive pressure in the crankcase can cause a leak on the front oil pan seal and rear main seal. Check the pvc valve/ tube is functioning and not blocked or split respectively. (or replace pvc). I'm looking @ intall of a belt driven vac system for me. I have blown out the front oil pan seal. Gasket looks to be split. I have also used Lucas oil stabilizer. It helps with leaking seals. Not a popular option, but, I like the stuff. Hope this helps. B.
