Stock belt length??
Stock belt length??
New engine is running and trying to work out the little things now. I have a belt squeak going on, and i'm trying to rule out any of the pulleys, because they all spin freely without the belt no problem. I bought the belt from oreillys and just looked at their site and there are actually two different belt sizes that they have listed.
64 3/4" BELT O.C
64 3/8" BELT O.C
They gave me the 64 3/4" belt and im wondering if it may be too big and slipping??? Does anyone know what the stock length for an LT1 Camaro is? it is an M6 if that makes a difference with all the stock accessories

The reason there were two belts is because they changed the diameter of the a/c pulley during the 1994 model year. The early pulley diameter was 110mm and the late pulley was 126mm. You may need the smaller belt.
There is a gauge on the tensioner that tells you when the belt needs replacing. You might look at that to see if it is out of range. The gauge is a little hard to see, but it is on the side of the tensioner. There is an arrow on the pivoting part of the tensioner that should point between two arrows on the tensioner body.

I see what you are talking about with the arrows on the tensioner. I can see the top arrow so that is telling me the tensioner is sitting too high, so I probably do have the longer belt. back to the parts store! thanks shoebox!!
