Oil Leak..Still can't track it down!

Well here it is a year later and the car is still leaking oil. I've replaced the pan gasket, resealed the intake, resealed the valvecovers and made sure they were sealed. But I still have this leak. Here's the kicker... The car hasn't been started in about 2 months but the car is still leaking oil Looking underneath there is oil on the starter and on the back of the oil pan. There is also drip on the oil plug. I would chawk it up and say it's just the oil plug, but that wouldn't explain oil on the starter. I don't think the oil sits high enough in the oil pan to leak out the oil pan gasket.... so what else could it be? my only thought is the little plug on top of the Canton oil pan on the passenger side. But honestly I have no idea.

The leak is only on the passenger side and is about 6" by 1 foot long.

Any ideas???

Thanks,
Jason

Question

Have you checked to see if it could be your car's rear main seal. There is a possibility there or the trans seal--somehow the rotation of the T/Q could be splashing over your starter--check it out.. Also, make sure the valve covers didn't catch one of those annoying wires bolted to the rear of the heads. If that doesn't work, try the talc method. It may sound stupid but it works. Cover important components and sprinkle some talc around the area " you think" is the culprit. Run the car for a while and see the leak appear on the talc. Try it -- and see if your headache goes away. After 1 year, you must have your head exploding by now-----good luck .

Well I dont think it's the rear main seal cause it leaks when the cars off, and I dont have any splash of oil when I run the car in a splatter pattern under the fly wheel. (which I had at one point cause of the rear main seal). And a head ache doesn't describe it I missed the entire race season cause of this leak last year. I dont wan't it to happen again.

What is Talc ? and where can I pick it up?

Thanks,
Jason

The guy from the shop that did my roll cage just called. He said he thinks it's that plug on the top of the pan thats leaking. he said he wiped everything off, and looking at it there is no oil above the pan, just from there down and on the starter. He said he felt up on the top of the lip of the pan and there was a lot of oil there. So HOPEFULLY this will finally solve my problem. I pick the car up tonight and have all day off tomorrow. So gotta put the carpet back in, then will see about fixing that.

I don't think it's those becasue I don't have any oil on the drivers side at all. I did in the past and thats how I found out I had a intake leak.

The low oil sensor is on the drivers side also I think. Has that long rod that goes into the oil pan?
