Oil leak by the Front engine cover and front of oilpan

I was hooking up my AC lines when I seen this oil behind the crankshaft on the engine front cover assembly and the front of the bottom of the oilpan as well as the loom. Well I do not have any problems now but I want to know what the problem is so I do not have a major problem later. Any input would be greatly appreciated

I had a 93 and 96 lt1 which did that it hardly even leaked. I never fixed it since it wasnt worth the hassle of taking all that **** off to get to it. It wont get any worse then that. Thats exactly what my 96 looks like right now. You can't even notice the oil loss on the dipstick it just seems to seep for hte most part.

You'll have to get it all clean if you ever want to see exactly where it is coming from.

Your intake is probably leaking. Mine is doing the same thing. As long as you don't see an oil loss between changes I wouldn't worry about it.

Looks just like me... been like that for 5 years I do want to fix it, but I think its the timing cover. You have to take a lot of crap off just to get at that gasket, and even lower the front of the oilpan to prevent the gasket from tearing.
