Oil Leak
Oil Leak
Ok, my car has 33,005 miles, its a 1994. I bought it from my uncle and it wasn't leaking. As you can tell by the milage it didn't get driven much. So when I started driving it more than its used to, a small oil leak started. It's on the very front of the engine, and runs down from above the main drive pulley. What could this be? My uncle said it was the passenger side valve cover gasket, what else could be leaking from the front of the engine near the top?
Oil leak on an LT1, no way
Clean it the best you can brake cleaner is the best in my opinion. On my second LT1 and have had a few leaks, front of intake not common but can happen, valve cover gaskets made of some good rubber so dont leak much but I would snug the valve cover bolts a little, not a lot because you could ruin valve cover gaskets if too tight. My personal experience is either the opti oil seal or water pump drive seal, even on a low mile car.

I'd say one of the front seals on the timing cover, there are three of them. An intake manifold or valve cover leak should be fairly easy to see since there shouldn't be much of anything in the way.
