Oil In Hose Going To Throttle Body.
There's no ball or any other moving parts. Just a filter inside directly below the fitting. But it is a glass trap with a bleed at the bottom to let the water out.
Hmmm? Does anyone know what the pressure of the "metered air" is in the system?

I haven't looked at the filters mentioned above, but a better solution might be a vapor separator - basically an inline cannister with no resistance that allows the oil to collect and drain back to the valve cover. I've seen these used on the 240Z's when autocrossed - apparently they suck a lot of oil through thier breather.
Re: Oil In Hose Going To Throttle Body.
My son's 97 LT1 with about 125K on a stock motor has a significant amount of oil at the front of the TB going into the passage mentioned.
We replaced the PCV valve but it seems to be worse 10K later. Can someone explain what is causing all this oil to go to the TB and how to remedy it.

Re: Oil In Hose Going To Throttle Body.
On top of the TB there is a black plastic rectangle attached with 6 torx bolts (i think). The rubber gasket (which I was quite sure was stock) on my car had deteriorated and actually expanded to 1.5 times its normal size! It was actually rippled around the edges because it was so big now. This caused some of the rubber to flop down into the cavity (where that tube connects) and block the passage. This caused oil to get stuck in the tube on my car. I made a new gasket with cardboard... and whaddya know.. no more oil getting sucked up
Re: Oil In Hose Going To Throttle Body.
To each their own but I wouldn't use a cardboard gasket there for fear of deterioration, ingesting and plugging. Paper products are more abrasive than one might think. I can't blame anyone for wanting to fabricate this gasket because replacement comes as a kit and makes for a modestly expensive gasket repair. I saw this gasket as a little unusual in that it almost looked like a bladder of sorts. BTW, mine did just as you stated. It ballooned out incredibly. I think it was from the cleaner I had used on the TB when I did an intake leak repair.
Re: Oil In Hose Going To Throttle Body.
Yea that would be my guess too. I figured A gasket was better than no gasket. Its only a bandaid solution
I live on my own and wasnt expecting to replace that gasket. The cardboard used was a very thing
solid type. Not the spongy cardboard either...
