Oil Filter for SLP SS with factory oil cooler

My SLP manual for 1997 SS lists:
Filter, engine oil

Lubrication-Standard (all conversions) a GM/SLP Part #6438261

Synthetic Lubricaton Package-Optional (all conversions) GM/SLP Part #
25013454

In the SLP manual it states:
"SLP also recommends the use of a synthetic media oil filter (except on
vehicles with optional oil cooler)"
I Googled the synthetic number and it said "no anti-drain back valve)
My question is; are factory oil cooler cars to use filters with or without
the anti-drain back valve?
Also can 10-30 be used insted of 5-30?
Thanks

Neither one of those filters have an anti drain back valve. One os a PF-35L and the other is a PF-25

You can use 10W-30 if you want but there is zero advantage in doing so....

Just get a Wix/Napa filter with 5w30 oil, it isn't rocket science...

Re: Oil Filter for SLP SS with factory oil cooler

I've been running the AC Delco PF-454 with Mobil1 synthetic for quite a while with no issues.

I have a stock oil cooler as well; is there a difference in the stock oil cooler and the SLP/SS oil cooler?
