Oil Fill Valve Cover breather

Just purchased and installed this on my car. 97 Camaro. Is this worth it or will it cause problems? It is the Metco one. Everything else like PCV valve and all other hoses are stock and still in place and I intend to keep them that way. I have heard so much regarding this stuff but I am unsure of the accuracy of the information.

Sorry if this has been covered before. Im new to the site.

car is mostly stock with minor bolt ons

Thanks

If you can find a thread reply in a search about breathers that was posted by Injuneer, it explains all you could want to know. He gives lots of details about it.

I was getting oil in my throttle body even with the filter purolator filter on the valve cover so I'm running a breather on each valve cover with the pcv valve still hooked up but inline with a catch can. This way I still have the benifits of the PCV system but I'm not getting any oil in the intake.

Thanks guys, but if I am not getting any oil in the intake or in the TB and the PCV is working fine and hasnt been disconnected and is still in stock configuration, is this mod helping any or is it detrimental. Does anyone know if it affects gas mileage (improve or not?) By mod, I mean just installing the breather over the oil fill tube and changing nothing else.

if your talking about the vent on the left valve cover I just put a filter on it then a cap on the TB and called it a day. No problems and no power loss

It has no benefits over the stock, closed system and will cause the computer to make allowances for the air that is now feeding into the PCV system that no longer passes through the MAF.

Thanks. I guess then one could consider this to be detrimental to performance in the stock setup.

It does decrease the performance of the PCV system. It may or may not bother engine performance. You can try it and see.
