Oil comming out of valve cover

Hello,

I was wondering if any one knows of a quick fix for my 94 trans am.
The oil filler tube that sticks out of the valve cover is very loose and does not seal properly. The threads on it seem like they are stripped, i can tighten it to a point and then it skips a thread and its loose again. I was wondering what people would recommend to properly seal this unit. Should i go with a valve cover breather?

Get a new tube or clean it up and put a little RTV on it.

You can also just screw the cap directly into the valve cover....

Don't know if it is a GM only part. You might find one at a salvage yard.

Isn't the cap a twist-lock and the cover made for the threaded extension?

I seem to remember threading the oil cap directly into the valve cover as well (before I upgraded my covers).

My cap screws directly into the valve cover. My tube did the same things yours is doing.

I called local GM dealer and the new tube is $20.00 I hope it comes with everything i need. Untill it comes in it seems the RTV trick did it well.
