Oil in antifreeze??

i noticed that intake gasket was leaking some oil, so i desided to change it. when i drain the radiator i noticed there was a small amount of oil on the termostat. what could cause oil to get in there?

Sounds like a head gasket to me. Not a hundred precent on that but thats my guess. You might wanna wait to here what other people say though. Its just a thought. I know oil in the coolant is a head gasket but not sure that if it would make it to your thermostat or not.

well i know when i went to drain in the antifreeze was way past the top of the cap because some ran out after taking it off. someone did say something about the pcv system shooting the oil into there. i thought maybe it was the intake leaking the oil in there but there are no coolant passages in the intake what so ever.

Oil in antifreeze is usually an indication of a popped head gasket. DId you check your oil to see if it was milkshaked? Also I would recommend doing a compression test.
