Oh dear... yet another cam thread =/

Here's my deal, the car is in the shop getting LT's and TD, and Im looking within the coming months at going with a new cam.

Im not a track dude, I just like to have everyday spirited driving fun. What cam should I look at, looking more towards reliabile power than something crazy. I'd like, for now, to get up around 350 hp. That really is enough for me at this time.

Suggestions? I don't know too much in this area, so help would be appreciated.

I am also looking for a nice street cam. I have done a bunch of research manly on the LT4 hotcam, cc305, and the cc503. I'm leaning toward the cc503 cause from what i've read it seems that that's the biggest you should go on stock heads and in my case, the biggest you can go and stay emissions legal. It seems that the cc305 will idle the best since it's on a 114 LSA as opposed to the hotcam and cc503 which are a 112 LSA. I've heard that the cc305 makes slightly more power than the hotcam and the cc503 makes a bit more power than the cc305. A lot of people seem to be going with the hotcam it since it comes with basically everything you need. As far as making 350hp to the wheels, I don't think you will be able to do it with just a cam. I was told I will also need to port my heads to see 350hp or over. I've seen a couple do it but most people seem to make around 330-340hp with these cams on stock heads. Also keep in mind that if you throw a cam in it would also be a good idea to throw in a higher stall converter.

I Agree! I just put an XFI cam in my car and pulled 21 mpg before the tuning and I have great power after the tuning.
