odd question/.. how do you guys start your cars?

odd question/.. how do you guys start your cars?

do you turn the key to the start position instantly or do you turn it to on, then wait for the fuel pump to stop doings its thing then start it?

Wait for the fuel pump to come on, then start the car.

seeing how my car is acting up and i have no idea as to why....just replaced the battery and clutch switch but yea...i turn it to the on position around 3 times and then turn it over ... sometimes it starts right up...others it will sit at 500 RPM's till i give it gas and then reve up to 1500 RPM's and then slowly drop to 1K.....any ideas?

my 92 did that, and it was the idle air control valve.

Seeing how I have multiple fuel pumps, I usually wait for them to prime and stop whining.
