Manual and auto are same plugs... the plugs from 93 and 94+ differ.

so if i convert my 93 to a 94+ PCM would it just be a plug and play or rewire electronics and such? also what about the trans. wouldnt it be best to pick up a 4l60e for better tunning w/ LT1 edit?

Why exactly would you want to do this?

I claim no responsibility for this page other than I downloaded it to save it for prosperity.

Make sure you guys use 2 (1 ohm) resistors as the page was modified for B-body guys.

For the f-body it is a 3.9 K ohm reistor.
For the b-body it is a 2K ohm resistor
Also, if it is an Impala SS you need the tach modifying circuit

The 93 F-body is a complete different computer and plugs at the PCM (actually even an ECM). This is the same as the 92 and 93 vettes. If you totally rewire you might as well throw in the 4l60e so you can program it.

I would not recommend this swap.
Selling the car and buying a newer one will be easier and less painful. Honestly.

Here's what you will need:

New O2 sensors. (93 have non heated, two wire sensors while 94+ have heated, 4 wire sensors)

New harness (prefferably a 94 because the 94s had non-vented optis just like 93s. You could also use a 95 harness with a 94 opti harness.)

94-95 PCM.

MAF sensor if you would like to run one. If not, you will need it programmed out or it will set an SES code and your fans will stay on all the time.

IF you keep the 4L60, you will need harness and programming tweaks. The ECM on the 93, even though it's an Engine Control Module, still controls the lock-up and release of the torque converter on the 4L60. The 94 harness has a totally different connector. It's actually easier to use and modify an M6 harness to work with the 4L60, but you will still need that 5 prong connector from the 93 harness. OR, 4L60E!

Also, the 93 throttle body has a different IAC valve and connector. You will need to either swap over the 93 connector onto the 94-95 harness, or swap the throttle body with a 94-97 unit, OR, swap just the bottom plate containing the IAC valve.

There's also one more connector on the A/C piping that isn't present on the 94+ harness. I'm not sure what it is for.

Finally, the biggest problem of all. Even though the harnesses look the same and have pretty much the same connectors, the wires must be in different spots since I've done everything up to this point and the car would not even crank. There was also a bunch of weird things going on with the gages and such. So you will need to find, ID and swap the wires in the connector going in the interior of the car.

Besides this, your tach will not work correctly with the 94 ECM so you will also need a 94-96 gague cluster or just swap the tach unit from a 94-96 cluster.
