First of all, please posts ur threads only ONCE in ONE forum, u don't need this in drag racing forum too.

Second of all, what do u mean by "not liking converters" If ur referring to OBD1 problems with torque converters over 3500 stalls, most tuners out there have solved that problem. I'm not sure what else u could mean.

No problem

Like i said, the main problem was with OBD1 PCMs which would have trouble with stalls over 3500. Many tuners, like PCMforless, Ed Wright, and most likely MadwolfZ28 have elminated this problem for the most part.

Most ppl wouldn't even have a problem with stall speeds during everyday driving. However, with a sticky tire and a WOT run, occassionally there were some shift problems.

If u go with a 3500+ stall, make sure ur tuner (If different from the above) has adjusted for the shift problems. However, if u are using a stall below 3500, especially a 2800, u shouldn't have any problems.

like said above the OBD2 or 96-97 cars seem to deal with 3000+ stalls better then OBD1. the problem is that the tranny will not shift from 1st-2nd i believe at WOT. as far as a solution... i dont think there is a defenative one. they are kinda hit and miss meaning some cars will have problem when other do not. my guess is it has something to do with the health of your tranny.. if you abuse it often you will likely have more trouble with a high stall.
