obd 2 codes

I just had my 96 lt1 scanned and came up with (intermediate misfire) any one know where to start? The reason I took it in was I could hear what I thought was a spark plug sparking and the engine would miss. I thought it might just be a wire but all the wires seem to be good.

What was the specific code number? Probably a "random" misfire. If you hear a snapping noise coming from the engine, you probably have a wire that is arcing. Take a look at it in the dark to confirm this.

P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected was the code. I tried the dark apporach and could not see anything. One guy told me it could be the injectors or distributor. What do you think?

If you hear the snapping noise and feel a miss, you can bet there is an arc somewhere that you have not seen.

That is what I thought too, It seems to always come from the same side (passenger of course) but if it is a wire would it not give me a specific cyclinder misfire code?

The diagnostics are not fool proof. If the crank position sensor does not detect enough change in speed to be able to figure it out, it won't throw a code. If your plug wires are old, they should be changed anyway.
