O2 wire extensions

O2 wire extensions

Can anybody direct me where to buy wire extensions for O2 sensors , or just make them myself? Thanx Gil

I don't mean to steal your thread , but as a side question, I have 02 wires that I cut and sliced to extend them. I think there giving the wrong readings so could I just solder the orginal 02 sensor wires back together and buy extensions or do I have to buy new 02's also .

Altering the wires of the O2 sensors, themselves, compromises the integrity of the sensor. The sensor pulls reference air from the gap between the wire and wire insulation and needs this reference air to work properly. Cutting and splicing may or may not cause problems. Better to leave the O2 wiring alone and either buy extensions or extend the vehicle harness side of the connection.
