i have hollowed out cats on my car and cant pass emissions. Has anyone tried o2 simulators, do they work. Or will i have to buy new cats

 

why are you not passing emission? the obd2 scan? the 02 sims will take the service engien light away but it won't affect the sniffer test if you have one.

maybe you cant pass emissions because you took your cats off?......get the rear o2's tuned out, but that wont help emissions. I am pretty sure you will need cats to pass a sniffer test.

 

The o2 sims only fool the computer into thinking the cats are working. Come to think about it, they might actually help in this case, since your o2 sensors are sending signals to your pcm and basically telling it your cats aren't working. The simulators will make the engine think that the cats are functioning properly and won't mess with the a/f ratio. Could be worth a try. Is it the actual emissions test you aren't passing? I've seen guys with cams and no cats pass emissions, so it can be done, just a matter of getting the computer thinking right

 

if your state only plugs in to the OBD2 port, sims will make you pass

 

In my state they only do the obd2 scan no sniffers here after 96. i give it a shot and hope it works. thanks.

 

yeah lets us know what happenes, there is adebate whether 02 sim will pass on the obdll scan

at least well have hard evidence, so lets us know
