im guessing the tech meant it doesnt alter voltage like it should(it should move between .1 and .9 volts) i have the same problem with mine where it is stuck at .4 and doesnt move at all. i have the same problem where the car idles good and runs good cold but when it gets hot it starts ****ting bricks. im gonna check the wiring on my extensions. i also ordered a new opti, ngk plugs, and msd wires so all this combined should get rid of it, and if it doesnt ill be one unhappy camper.

But the point of my question is why guess? There is more than one code for an O2 sensor, and if he had the exact code, we might be able to help him.

I could guess that your O2 reading sticks around 450mV, and speculate that its an intermittent dead open circuit.

But why "guess"?

well what i meant is that he might not have even read the code. he could have just gone to the data and saw that one 02 was doing its job and the other was just staying put, when he said sticking thats just what came to mind.

but i know where your coming from about the guessing part.

Re: o2 sensor issue...

My Impala had the exact symptoms you described. I thought one of my O2 wires was bad but it turned out to be a loose o2 sensor - passenger side sensor had started to back out. Simple fix. Check for the easy stuff first.

Re: o2 sensor issue...

I've had an SES light go on momentarily from an O2 sensor "sticking"... When I checked the O2 in freescan the voltage was changing very very slowly on one of the O2's. Once replaced it never threw the SES light again. I didn't find any codes on the car though.
