Question Which O2 Sensor extensions for a 1993 Z28?

Hello,

Quick question... Which O2 sensor extensions would I need for a 1993 Z28? I put on SLP mid-length headers. Am I needing the "flat" or "square"? I researched and it looks like I need the "flat" style connector but wanted to be sure. Any idea on what sizes (lengths) I will need? Many many thanks!

Thanks!

Jason

For f-body cars, all front O2s use the flat connectors.

I don't know about yours but my 93 z is a single wire o2.......if you're putting in headers that move the o2 location further from the exhaust port you may want to install heated o2's.....those would be the four wire flat, or square....

Exactly which ones i don't know, I don't have headers...

See, you jinxed me! As noted above, 93s use a single wire O2. You will need a specific extension for that, but you might want to consider converting to heated O2s as crash4cyl mentioned. http://shbox.com/1/heatedsensor2.jpg

Hmm, well... That's no good lol.. I ordered the flat 24" extenders from summit today. I'll have to return them lol. Where can I order the 1 wire extenders?

take shoebox's advice and just look into the heated o2's....it'll save you a lot of headaches when it comes to the driveability of the car. Otherwise the o2's will never reach operating temp, and they'll get full of carbon and then you'll be complpaining the car runs like junk, and then you'll keep replacing o2's .......go with the heated ones and save yourself the future headaches...

Question Heated O2 sensor part number?

Ha ha, I just replaced these O2 sensors! Oh well, I'm sure I can put them up on the trade forum. Anyone know the part number I'll need for the heated O2 sensors that connect to a flat connector? Will it be just plug and play or will I need to splice any wires to do this? Thanks so much for all the help everyone!

GO to www.speeddensity.org and look up username "fastbird". The guys name is sean and he makes a 4 wire (heated) convertion kit for a very decent price concidering. He does proffesional work. I bought the forward o2's from the parts store that fit a 94+ v8 fbody that all had 4 wire o2's. The kit comes with instructions and is easy to install. I think it was around 65 shipped. Heated O2's are a must with headers on a 93. You wont need extentions with this kit either, they are the correct length for headers.

Make sure you use AcDelco o2's or delphi. They are more expensive but they are the ones you want.
