A(nother) Optispark Thread!!! (Act now and get free pics of my GF in her underwear!)

OK, I know there are eleventybillion opti threads. I don't have the attention span to...

Wait, what was I talking about?

PLUS, I'm pretty sure this will be the only opti thread with ghirly pictures! (I want to make it worth your while and keep your interest...)

The last experience I had with the opti was my '95 Z, which I replaced with a Delteq unit. Which was awesome.

Unfortunately times change, that was at least 3 years ago, and now that a Delteq isn't in the budget anymore I'm wondering what the next-best option is.

I see 'new' units on ebay as cheap as $98 BIN. I can't imagine they're worth a...

Then I wonder about just doing the cheapo cap/rotor thing until I can afford another Delteq.

Or now there are MSD and Accel replacements that weren't around the last time I did this.

Current project is my '97 LT1 SS.

I'm not a cheapo, I like doing things right once and never having to redo them, but right now if I can make it go for $10, at least it will go and I'll be able to drive it around this summer. Right now it looks perty sitting in the garage, but runs like a Mustang so I'm embarrassed to drive it.

So what's the best tradeoff out there right now? Pony up for a GM replacement, take my chances on a cheapo, buy a used low mileage unit for $50 and pray?

And since I posted pics of *my* GF, I want to see yours!!!

Oh, and since I talk to myself a lot in real life, I thought I'd reply already...

If anyone wants to donate to my "Poor divorced guy whose x-wife took everything but his brokeassed Camaro" charity with a good opti or delteq unit, I'm willing to send you my GF's 18 year old Little Sister's phone number...

If anyone wants to donate an LS7 Vette, I'll send you my GF's 18 year old Little Sister.

(I'll have to ask the GF if I can take some pics of her Lil Sis to post, just in case anyone is interested...)

A genuine GM opti is your best bet. But, if you had actually searched, you would already know that.
