Not your usual Air pump thread

Last week, I was getting an SES light. So my friend and I scanned the car and turned out to be the Air Pump causing the problem. Fuse was blown, so we replaced the fuse and pow, blew another fuse. So we decided to take off the air pump and break her open and have a look see. Woah, there was water in there and it fried the pump. Don't need the pump, don't have emissions testing here, so it became garbage food.

This week I went to change the oil and air filter. When I took off the intake at the MAF, all the foam crud from the air pump had been sucked up through the tube and lodged itself on the screen of the MAF. Holy cow was I surprised at what I saw. Well, anyways, cleaned up the MAF and now she is running like she should.

Point of this thread: If you are thinking about descreening your MAF, you may want to reconsider. I can only imagine what all that crap getting into my intake would do. Just thought I would share my experience.
