Not sure if I posted this, but 383 is progressing nicely

http://community.webshots.com/album/323874290BmlIfb

I got set back last week because my rods were hitting the cam and the machine shop took care of it, however they took a week to clearance them, but all is well now. I should have it fully assembled by Tuesday and Running by Saturday.

6.3 liter 383 CI 95 LT1 block

GOnna have a 11.54:1 static compression and
forgot the dynamic but it was 8.xx:1

cam is:

230/244 .544/.574 (1.6 rockers) on a 112 LSA

Ported heads flowing:

.100 72/54
.200 138/110
.300 195/144
.400 245/187
.500 262/202
.600 262/208

and 42# injectors

Im looking to put down 420rwhp and about 480-500 at the crank.

Gonna be one hell of a ride when I get it done, will keep this updated.

What is your combustion chamber size? The reason I ask, is that when I was building my 383, with my 54cc combustion chambers, the compression ratio with flat tops (which it appears you have) yeilded a cr. in the mid 12's, I believe. I opted for the next available step down which was -16cc dished pistons that yeilded 10.8:1. If your chamber size is 54cc, then you may want to run your numbers again because I don't think it's in the mid 11's.

My Chambers were 58cc and 58 1/3's. I had the machine shop measure them.

Did you have yours measured or did you assume their 54cc's? I took 2 sets of lt1 heads, one ported one stock casting and both came out 58cc. My ported ones, some of the chambers came out 58 1/3.

I've got reworked AFR's and they were cc'd at 54cc. Combined with a -.005" deck height and .039" fel pro head gaskets, the math came out to 10.85:1 (or something around there) with the -16cc pistons. 58cc chambers do change things, though.
