Angry Not starting again!!

Hey Guys, On the 16th I posted that I wasn't getting any power to the injectors and car won't start, but I got it running after i unpluged the TPS.
Pluged it back in took car for a spin. ran great! shut it down and cranked it back up again , repeated that a couple of times , everything seem to be fine! The next day went to the shop, to get the car out and drive it to work and wouldn't start, unpluged the TPS again, still would crank up ! Fuel perssure is good! spark is good! will start, if spray fuel in intake. Pink wire on injectors has fire, but injectors still not injecting "injector not working"???? will buy a New TPS just in case! Don't know what else to do???
put new fuel pump in, changed fuel filter, has good fuel perssure, has good spark! Hooked up auto Xray and No Codes??? WTF???
Any Help would be great ! Thank you ahead!!

I don't know what the TPS would have to do with it. I would be more inclined to say you jostled the wiring harness to the opti when messing with the TPS and that is what caused it to run again. If the computer sees no opti signals, the injectors will not fire. Check your opti harness.

i have seen this happen with an 1986 vette that someone converted to speed density. needless to say it didn't work..lol. i ran in circles trying to figure it out. swapping injectors, computers, chips, distributers.the injectors would fire with the tps unhooked but all was dead with it hooked up. the owner got impatient that i couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and took the car back before i could figure out what he had messed up..

Ok, I bought the New TPS and as you guys more than likely already new. It didn't help!
I really didn't think that it was the problem anyway, but a guy I was talking with suggested for me to try it. I really think it's the wireing harness also! so do you think that i should replace the whole harness? Or should i just unplug the whole harness and look it over for any breaks? or what would you suggest I do? I have to say, i'm normally pretty good on working car and trucks, But the wiring is one of my weak areas! I just don't have the patients for it! But I have to do what ever i have too! what am I looking for? if I pull the whole wiring harness. if i wanted to buy a New one, does anyone know what it would cost me?

Well we can see (after going to your individual contact page) that you are talking about a 94 OBDI car.

Now here is where we have to assume some things. One is you truly don't have an injector pulse. So therefore you should focus on things that effect the pulse. Namely wired items that can shut down the injectors. HOWEVER those items would leave a clear DTC but you said there are no codes. Since OBDI's can be a bit tricky to scan, I would first suspect your scanning equipment/ technique. So my assumption is your scanner equipment is not telling you the correct information.

As far as items that can shut down the injector pulses, there aren't many. If you are correct about the fuel pressure, than it should not be an opti code. Since a DTC 16 will stop both the fuel pump AND the injectors. However, you should re-leave all the pressure in the fuel lines and try again. Then if you don't have pressure OR injector pulses, suspect a problem in the low res signal from the OPTI.

Any injector circuit issues will shut them down. See DTC18.

A problem with the ignition control circuit (DTC41 or 42) will cause a shut down of the injectors but you would have no spark either.

Other than that, focus on the control lines from the PCM to the injectors and see if any are open. Ohm from the red pcm connector while it's disconnected, to the corresponding injector clip. Pay attention to wire color to find it. You could also look for injector pulses right at the PCM connector. Put one end of the indicator to battery plus and the other end on wires right at the PCM.

Obviously if you have pulses at the PCM but not at the clips, you have a wiring issue. If you don't have pulses at the PCM than more than likely you missed the cause of the PCM shutting them down.

Smile Got it running again??

For you Guys, that responed! Thank you Very Much!! all of you have help!
I completely removed the wiring harness, spent at least two hours going over the Harness wire by wire, looking for anything that didn't look right or a brake or crack in the wire, but did not find anything! Put it all back together, carefully plugging all thr plugs in correctly, not that you can plug them in wrong. But just trying to make sure i was not making any mistakes, putting it back together. It started right up, so I decided to take it for a ride, not real sure if i should , knowing i could wind up on the side of the road some where, but i rolled the dice! went and got gas because it was low on gas. I got to the gas station and really didn't won't to leave it running while I pump gas, but left it running and begin to pump gas and the car died! so I thought to myself oh S***!! went ahead a filled it up! Got back in the car and turn the key to off, waited a couple of seconds and turned the key and it started Right Up!!! :-) I was so happy!!
It ran great the whole time, not a miss or anything! pulled it back in my shop shut it down,
started it up again! wow! No problem! let it sit all night went back in the AM and started up again no problem! ?????? still don't know what I did to fix it?? so i'm still not trusting it, till i know for sure what was wrong. so I'm sure that you guys will be hearing from me again!
Again i do want to thank each one of you!! if any you are ever in the Brooksville area stop by and look me up! Love meeting car guys and women!
