Not running quite right

Heys guys, I've been having lots of fun driving my 94 Z28 since replacing the blown head gaskets. It was running better than I ever remember (although it sat for 3 years so that could be why) after the repair until last month. It sometimes feels like it is missing or hesitating, especially when I leave from a stoplight. I press the gas and it kinda bogs a bit then when I really give it gas, its like it "catches" and bam, I get whiplash. Any ideas? It is frustrating since I finally managed to get it up and running again after so long. I just hope it isn't the opticrap since I've had to replace it three times in the last 10 years. Thanks for any insight!

3 in 10 years sounds light, so its probably the opti

Do you have a way to scan it? Data logging is our friend.

all three replacements happened within a 4 year span of each other. It's just been sitting in a garage for 3 years. Wish I had a way to scan it, but I don't. Any chance it could be something else a little easier to diagnose? Thanks

sitting for three years yikes! I own a shop and lots of times I get a project in that takes 6 months to a year to finish (like restoring a 1st gen and swapping a LT1 in) and when they sit that long the gas in the fuel rails and injectors turn to varnish. Just one bit the size of a grain of salt will cause this type of problem so for a quick try, run your gas tank low and pour some sea foam in and see if that clears it out. The last one I did I had 3 injectors comepletely not working, plugged up and I did this 1st for a quick fix. I had to rev the engine for about 10 to 15 minutes then they finally cleared and it ran fine, done this many times. Best way though is to remove them and run on a injector high pressure cleaner... mike...

hey mke, I was wondering about something like that. especially since I never put any kind of fuel stabilizer in and used the gas in the tank 3 years later. hehe i hope it is something like that. in fact i notice it the most when making a turn so it almost feels like it isn't get fuel somehow. thanks for the info, i am going to try that!

Just an update, I tried the Seafoam and now I'm not having the problem! I think it cleared it up so thanks a million Mike!! That stuff is a miracle worker, hehe. I'm going to buy a couple more cans to put in my daily drivers. Maybe it'll help the gas mileage.
