Not firing somewhere?

Ok im new here so hi everyone.ha. Anyways, i did some searching and couldnt find much of an answer. My problem is- i have a 95 firebird and it was missing pretty bad. Well i decided to just get on it, and when i did, it cut off, and wont start back. My ICM is ok because i took it off and put it on a buddys car and it fired right up. There is no spark goin from the coil to the distributor. I replaced the coil and still, same problem. Any ideas? Or ways to check anything else?

Its possible you lost the rotor or the optical sensor in the Optispark distributor. Have you scanned it for codes? Is the SES light on?

Well my SES stays on because of no air pump or egr. Im in the process of taking off the water pump, etc. so i can get to the distributor. I checked most of the wires goin to the PCM and didnt see any fried or anything...

Why not eliminate the SES light for the AIR and EGR so the light will serve a useful purpose. For the OBD-I cars, the AIR pump can be unplugged and eliminated, and will not turn on the SES light, as long as there is a good fuse in the circuit. For the EGR, if you subsitute a resistor for the EGR vacuum solenoid, it will definitely eliminate one of the EGR codes, and generally the other code for low flow will not set in about 75% of the OBD-I engines. Or have the systems "programmed out" of the PCM.
