not connected hose?

There is a hose thats not connected in my car... when youre under the car and ur legs are facing outwards/front and u look up its the 1st/lowest thing you see on the left side... there is a hose, and its not connected to anything... car runs fine without it really with no probs, no overheating or anything...

i thought it can be for the water tank for the windshield since mine doenst squirt it on the window, but it goes somewhere, cuz each time i use it, and i get out to look at the tank, it gets more and more empty...

any ideas?

Can you offer a better description, maybe a picture??? Size, color, other components near it? Where does the other end connect to???

One of the first things that come to mind is the vacuum line to the vented opti.

i'll take a pic of it when i jack up the car again, but friend told me it could be the egr pump, but then i'd think i'd get an SES light...

There is no EGR "pump" The EGR gasses are routed from the passenger side exhaust manifold to the rear of the intake manifold. The vacuum lines to control the EGR valve are all on top of the engine and relatively short.

There is an AIR pump on the front of the engine. The hose for that is fairly large and runs to the induction system, behind the front driver's side headlight area. The output of the AIR pump runs to either exhaust manfold through a metal pipe and smaller lengths of hose.

The AIR system does run for a little while upon startup.
