Normal Temp

What is the normal operating temp for a 1997 Z28? If Im running down the road its around 180-190 but if its sitting in park at idle or sitting on the street in gear at a light or something the temp starts going up. Ususally 210+ but I dont belive Ive seen it hit 235 yet. My mazada MPV sits about 180 and stays there and never moves reguardless of at idle or not. Thanks in advance for the help

That's normal. The fans are programed to come on later than the thermostat opening.

Absolutely normal. All cars with electric fans heat up when you are stopped. Stock fans don't even come on until 226°. LT1s come stock with a 180° thermostat.

Thanks a ton I guess Ill stop worrying the car is over heating. Now just have to fix the other small issues and hopefully this car will last me a long while.
