noob here, need help w/ optispark

Hey, i'm new at the board here . . . Z28s optispark went splat and just looking for a little information on how hard it is to replace. I've heard these things will sell at the dealership for over $600 and i really dont have the budget for that, plus labor fees at the shop . . . so i figured if i could find one cheaper and do the labor myself, it might be a lot better budget wise. My buddies on 3SI (3000GT/Stealth International) recommended me coming to this site to find the info on this. Any help would be apprciated. Thanks

Water pump has to come off to get to the opti. You might as well go ahead and buy a Haynes Manual if you don't have one already.

I've done it twice now. It's not hard and there are some great instructions on this board if you search for them. You can do it in an afternoon. Buy it from Jason Cromer (search for his name on the web). Seriously consider replacing your water pump while you have it off. I think I paid about $280 from Jason the last time I bought it.

The 1994 opti is going to be closer to $300. Some install guidance can be found here .
