When they fold down I get a really bad noise probably coming from the motors. I few weeks ago, I noticed that my right headlight did not come up when I turned on my lights. My idiot friend went under the hood and played with the **** beside the headlight assembly and now it works, but it makes a godawful noise when I turn the headlights down.

 

Mine just started doing the same thing. It goes on for about 5 seconds after the lights go down. I'm curious as well...

 

You need a new headlight gear. On ebay you can buy a brass one for $30-40 so it won't strip out again.

 

you can also disconnect the lever, turn the gear 180 degrees and reconnect it. You'll then be using the other side of the gear that should still be new. There are a few write-ups floating around here that tell you specifically how to do it.
