No whine/noise from gear drive install, should I be worried?

I just started my car from a major install which included a Pete Jackson gear drive kit. When I started the car the exhaust was loud but I did not hear any whine at all from the gear drive set. This is a good thing for me but now wondering if something will go wrong. The car turned on and idled so I'm guessing it should be good. Still no whine from a gear drive, that's strange isn't it?

I also would like to know where cause I heard that the knock sensors will pick it up and make the car run like crap.

im pretty sure if you use an electric water pump you can use the gear drive.

I'd love to hear this one too.

What brand?

EDIT: Pete Jackson. Is this a 93 + LT1 or the old LT-1?

U can use one... U have to machine the timing cover to accept the idler gears. Someone on this board has been running one for atleast 3 years now...

You have to dis-able your knock sensor, use a Electric waterpump, modify the timing cover, and on 96/97 cars remove the CPS (crank position sensor).

The only hard part is maching the clearences in the cover. The easiest way is to install the gears, mark the shafts with some marking compound and install the cover the best you can. The marking compound will mark the cover where you need to machine in reliefs for the gearshafts.

This is one mod I'm doing when I put a cam in my car.

The gear drive I got is for sbc's up till 95 w/o hydrualic cam. It was a simple install. I just had to clearance the cam cover like 97FormulaWS-6 said and use an electric waterpump. The knock sensor I'm still not sure yet, from the way it sounds I think I'll be fine. If it does trip the sensor too much than I'll just eliminate it
