Agreed! An excellent approach that will certainly save money in the end and likely time also, although it doesn't seem like it sometimes while you are following that method of troubleshooting. Good advice.

Re: No Start problem

I will take the ICM in to be tested.
I did not get spark from the wire to header but wasn;t sure if I had the terminal close enough for it to jump to the header and I could not stick a screw driver close enough to get zapped, had the wife turning the ignition key and she might have enjoyed that too much and just kept cranking till the battery died, or me, LOL.

I was under the impression that if the coil was firing the ICM was good. But let me know if this is not the right impression.

Thanks for the discussion!!!

If AZ can test the ICM for free, it would be be a way to rule out that part as being bad. As FastZinTennessee suggested, that would be a wise step to take before spending any $ on other parts.
If you have no voltage to the plug wire but do have voltage to the opti coil terminal, that would suggest a problem in the distributor, the electrical circuit supporting the distributor or the drive from the cam to it.
turbo_Z may have it nailed, but don't go tearing into it and spending $ till you rule out the simple stuff. I'd check continuity on the wires on either side of that opti connector too since that has caused problems for several opti buyers who had a good opti originally.
