No start issue...

I have looked at previous posts already thru the search and didnt seem to find anything quite the same as my issue. I have a 95 Z with the LT-1 automatic if it makes any difference. I had recently been having an isue with my acceleration. If I hit the gas sometimes it would stumble and bog but if I pressed some more it would move thru the issue and pick up and go. I waas going to change the TPS figuring it was probably the problem. But now my car just suddenly wont start. Not sure if it is related or not. I know it is getting fuel pressure but it seems to have no spark. I was thinking maybe a bad coil or ICM? It cranks fine and everything just no spark. Any ideas? My car is stuck 130 miles away right now.

The coil might be a good place to start. You should also check for trouble codes, first.

You need to scan it for codes. Not all codes turn on the SES light. DTC 16, which is failure of low res pulse pattern from the Opti does not appear to turn the light on, but it prevents the engine from starting. There are also codes for problems with the IC Module and circuitry.

Make sure you check the fuses for the fuel pump and fuel injectors. Wiring to the coil, coil wire (not burnt).

My problem was the opti. I had a mid rpm miss that would come and go. Then it seemed to take longer to start a few cranks etc.. Then all of a sudden no start. Would crank and crank but never fire. I changed the out the ICM and Coil trying to diagnose and hoping it would be one of them I had also checked the ICM fuse and Ign. fueses before finally having to change out the opti. New opti and car runs great again.

By the way I had no codes showing up.
