no start after new opti
Re: no start after new opti
I mentioned to check the cam timing only if you where there inside the opti. When you put any cylinder at TDC, you can confirm the opti is installed correct and the cam has not broken or jumped time by seeing where the rotor is pointing.
When you remove the cap, you would have noticed in which position the corresponding cylinder(at TDC) contact point is. The rotor should be facing that direction.
I only mentioned that if you were at that point of install/checking. The likely hood of the cam being off is slim but if you are already there, it never hurts to check something that requires no more work. At this point if everything is buttoned up, it's not worth looking for.

Re: no start after new opti
With a better tester (digital multimeter) i found these results
--- ICM (KEY ON)
pink -13.3v
white- nothing
black- ground
green-nothing
---ICM (Cranking)
pink-9.8v
white-(AC) .8v
black-ground
green-nothing
OPTI (Cranking)
purple-ground
blue- 13.28v
green- (AC) 2.1v
black(AC) 1.2v
i pulled the ignition fuse and I tested DC Volts at the pink wire from the coil and pink wire from ICM-----it read 0
i tested the resistance between the 2 pinks wires and it read 0 ohms.

Re: no start after new opti
check the voltage across the battery when you crank the engine and let us know what it is.
I think everyone is getting tired of reading this so email me at jamianddave@charter.net or PM me.
I think we can get down to the opti or pcm real easy at that point.
