No Start

Ok here is the problem. My car wont start. battery is all good all power. But not even a little click when i turn the key. My first thought was the starter but have gotten a few other things like the V.A.T.S. or the Neutral Start Switch and so on. Now before it stopped starting the car was starting very strong the starter was very strong. Also i had to let the clutch out a little to get it to start when i pushed it all the way down it wouldnt start. any help would be much appreciated.

Re: No Start

Sounds like the clutch start switch was bad but did you replace it? Is the security light on or blinking? If the security light is not lit or blinking, check some fuses first. At the IP fuse panel check #7, #8 and #9. If they are ok,
try this, near the glove box is 2 relays. One of them is the theft deterrent relay and has yellow, purple, brown and yel/blak wires going to it. Put a jumper wire from the yellow to the purple wire. This will bypass the theft deterrent relay which is the last item in the circuit before the starter. And will split the system into 2 halves for trouble shooting. Once you have the jumper in, try it like normal. If it starts, (and I think it will) the problem is in the theft deterrent system. However, usually the security light will come on or blink if that is the case. Let us know what happens. Then we can help you from there.

Re: No Start

Check the switch before you do anything else. I know you have a bad spot in the switch based on what you describe. If that doesn't help and you checked the fuses, then go for the relay jumper. If that doesn't work, use a jumper cable directly to the starter from the battery to confirm it's good and the battery is good. We'll go from there, but I'll be out of town till Wed night. Will read your reply then. Read my PM Good luck
