no speedo

Need some help guys. I just replaced the clutch in my 93 z and the speedo isnt worknig. Somebody has hacked on the car before and two on the plugs on the tranny no longer have the plugs only two female wire connectors to plug into the sensors. I switched the wires around several times. I got the service engine light to go off but no speedo. Not sure what sensors dont have the ends. The first one is the sensor in the middle of the tranny drivers side. The other is located rear drivers under the skip shift. Any help describeing the wire locations would help. Also didnt see any ground wires attached to the bell housing bolts. Im not sure if there are any that I could of missed. Any info will help. Thanks

Not sure if this applies to 6 speeds, but the VSS is what controls the speedo. Located at the tailshaft of the transmission.

According to this, it's for the A4s. Not sure on the manuals.
