No Power Steering after Engine swap ?

The power steering worked fine in my 96 T/A before swapping in the 383 .. but now it will not work at all No leaks .. Pump is turning .. it has fluid .. but no power steering anymore .. the shop owner told me the only way to fix this is to replace my Rack n Pinion .. but if it was perfect when it was put in .. what gives now ?

A wet or slippery accessory belt will cause the power steering to perform poorly. Common issue when the water pump weep hole starts dripping on the belt.
