Hi,

i was driving (quite hardly but that is the aim of my Z28 purchase), when the engine suddenly went off.

I looked briefly at it at home. I have no spark at spark plugs while no engine code. I also looked with my AutoXray scan : nothing wrong.

My question is just : what are the things to check at first to help me save time. I beleive the very first are to check coil and optispark module, as i beleive these can cause trouble without engine code.

Yea, check your coil first. When I had my Z28 I replaced the coil several times due to failure.

Ignition fuses, Ignition Control Module and coil wire could also be at fault.

One more for ICM.

 

I just try the shoebox test for ICM. Reading between A to ground and D to ground should be 10V dc. Mine are just 0.02 V dc ....


the problem might come from ICM so or related to something else ????

 

I beleive coil is dead.

infinite resistance between 2 primary.
Going to purchase a new one.
