last night some guy took it upon himself to kick my car on the rear quarter panel where the gas cap is when i got off from work i couldnt use my keyless remote, and it was hard to open it w/ key. i didnt see the dent till this morning, but my power locks just go crazy from time to time. im driving and it locks then i press the button on the remote and it does nothing. seconds later i hear the doors unlock but i cant open the door. what gives, is there a sensor where the guy kicked it thats screwing my keyless up or what? im going crazy trying to figure it out any help or ideas are welcome. i realize this might be moved to the general f-body tech, but thanks for any help

 

I can't imagine anything in the quarter panel having anything to do with the keyless or power locks. None of that is in there.

my keyless has been working fine up until last night when my car was vandalized. i just replaced my battery on the remote about 4 months ago. its been raining this past week or so, do you think water could have shorted out the battery? sometimes it works perfect then it just dies. if i remember correctly, it might have been doing the same thing before i replaced the battery.

 

I have occasional trouble with mine.

The receiver is behind the RH kick panel. You might want to check if any water might be migrating into that area.
