Angry No Idea What The Problem Is

Well recently the car has been acting weird. When we were driving home yesterday, the would barley move at all unless it would rev up to around 4k RPM's. Then To speed up it would reach about 5k RPM's but then just BARELY move. I'm wondering if any of you know what the problem is? Why is it revving so high? I'm also getting Limp Mode starts as well. But no CEL at all. I'm thinking the previous owner might have done something to the CEL light. Also it has a Transgo Shift Kit in it. Im thinking that might be the problem as well. Can anybody shed some light or maybe a how to Fix it?

Is it overheating?

Have you checked the transmission fluid?

I think it is Overheating, Cause once I turn the car off, you can hear the fans turn off as well. And I usually dont hear the fans turn off when i turn the car off before this happened. I have not checked Transmission fluid. But I will In a few minutes and report back.

Just checked the Transmission fluid and there is fluid in it. But for some reason the dipstick for the transmission fluid keeps coming out a little.

Is there a normal amount of exhaust coming out the tailpipes? I had a cat clog up once and it had similar symptoms. You can verify if the cat is clogged using a heat gun as well. Your exhaust should be hotter directly after the cat than before it due to the chemical "burning" process it goes through. If it is colder after the cat either the cat is bad or clogged.

Edit: By the way, whenever a car overheats its usually a good idea to change the trans fluid. It breaks down under heat and is cooled through the radiator. So if the car overheats, so does the trans fluid.

That's where I was headed. I had a cat clog up, but a clogged cat usually results in an
overheated engine, because the exhaust gases can't escape. At the time, for me, the
car would overheat (over the 1/2 way mark and higher, consistently) and the car had
ZERO power whatsoever - mash on the gas pedal and almost no response from the engine.

And yes, a temp probe would reveal the problem, such as this:

Well guys, the serpentine belt broke today. So I changed that. I put Trans fluid in. There is no loss of power but it still refuses to shift like it use to. So I think the next stop is taking it to a muffler shop to see if The cat is clogged. If that isnt the problem, whats my next step guys?
