No fuel pressure on new build please help
1994 z28 All rebuilt motor and trans. also installed new 255 warner pump while engine was out. and no pump noise. i just replaced relay and now have power out of relay for 2 seconds then relay stops output but i get no noise from pump or no power to pump leads at top of fuel tank. what am i missing or overlooking??

Well, the 2 second power up is right (priming the fuel system). If you're getting power to the relay, you should be getting that same power at the pump (for 2 seconds). You may have a bad connection in the tank. My ground wire gives me fits all the time.
Mine actually chooses when it wants to come on. If it doesn't come on, I just bang on the top of the tank. I wouldn't suggest this method though.
You need to probe around with a multimeter and make sure you have continuity. I've also checked wires by running 12V directly to them and seeing if the pump kicks on.

Also there is a connector that plugs in to the back underside of the tank (under the car) that might have fallen out. This happened to me when I went to get my car dyno tuned a couple years back. Whoever strapped the car down accidentally knocked it out and no body noticed, needless to say I didn't get the car tuned that day 'cause it wouldn't start once it was on the dyno.
If you're still not getting pressure, then I'd suggest checking the main line off the fuel pump itself. I was having pressure drop problems, because I didn't hose clamp it onto the pump. You may want to make sure everything is still connected (the main line can easily blow off due to the pressure). Usually, when I'm having problems, I'll leave the pump hooked up, inside the bucket, unhook the lines (from the top/front of the tank that connect to the top of the assembly), lift the assembly out (so you can see if gas is coming out of the lines), and turn the key to make sure gas is coming out and the pump is kicking on. Oh, and use a bucket or towel so the gas doesn't spray on the inside of the car. You can leave the assembly in if you have someone else that can turn the key to 'on'. I pull it out in case I need to mess with something and quickly retry turning the key. HTH.
