No CAT, good or bad? & other misc. Q's
I used to think that taking off the CAT was a good idea, but after reading this thread it seems like it could be the other way around? I thought taking off the CAT would give the car a few horses, which would be good right? Or does the removing the CAT reduce low end torque? I'm confused. I was thinking about getting mine taken off but now I need advice.
And no, there aren't any emissions tests here.
Also, does a TB airfoil really give any performance increase?
And another: what's a good estimate on getting Pacesetter long tubes installed at a shop?

Re: No CAT, good or bad? & other misc. Q's
I gutted my cat and gained torque and hp. Not much though, maybe .08 in the quarter. My cat was super clean and working perfectly. I still have the ypipe and gutted cat all together in perfect shape if you want it. I just installed a set of Pacesetter Lt's in its place. The install was a bit of a pain but there are threads giving yuo step by step instructions to follow.
Also, the hollowed cat gives the exhaust a really nice sound at wot.
I watched a hp tv show where they installed a tb airfoil and it gave 2 hp on a caprice.
