I recently opened a discussion on my 94 camaro z28 about having to much backpressure. I made a mistake. My car which is a 94 camaro z28m6 currently installed a hot cam with headers, no cats, with the loudmouth. My car does not have any backpressure. And every time I drive it it builds up and makes a loud popping sound then my performance kicks - in. Do i need a muffler - becuase the loudmouth is basically a hollow pipe you can see right threw. Will a muffler help reduce that problem

 

 

yea im a little confused too....only thing I can tell you is your car has backpressure.....it can't have no backpressure, no exhaust is 100% eficient...

Why do you think a muffler would help your performance?

 

The less restrictive an exhaust is the better, dont worry about backpressure. As far as your problem, it sounds like maybe tuning or something else is your problem if you 'performance' kicks in.
